On a drunken evening sometime in September, Mike De and I filmed a video set to an unreleased song of ours called, “The Waltz For The End Times.” This short film consists of Mike dancing with a stuffed lion while I analyze his performance. No one watched it. So we were safe to make more. No one watched those. We’re still making them. Right now, we’re up to 8. Here’s one we did last night:
I hope you didn’t watch it. Anyway, we thought it would be fun if other people should make a “Waltz” video as well, so we are providing the end of the song (the part in the videos) for these people to download:
We hope you don’t make one. But if you do, you may use this instructional video for guidance:
I really hope you didn’t look at that. If you need to catch up, here’s a playlist of all of the videos. Please don’t view them:

Hello!
Thanks to everyone who came out for our opening set at Lucky 7’s BBQ yesterday. It was our first time working with this new format and we certainly learned a lot. We had a great time! The other bands were fantastic. We played three new songs that may or may not end up on the new album that we have been working on. Hopefully we can get some video next time so we can show them to you. Or you could always just come out :-)
This Friday (July 27), we’re opening up at The Brighton Bar in Long Branch for The Thousand Pities (a band I happen to play the bass guitar in) and The Blasés. I’m really excited for this show. For one, The Brighton Bar is awesome. The band that Brandon and I formerly played in, St. Sat B, were regulars at The Brighton, so it’s going to be great playing there again (here’s a video of an entire St. Sat B set we did there about 5 years ago!). Secondly, The Blasés are fucking cool. So come see us!
Hopefully we’ll see you soon,
~jimmy
Hey!
It’s been a while! We’ve been busy doing what every band does after releasing an album: not play any shows and immediately write another record.
Unfortunately, we’ve been informed that in order for us to “get our name out there,” we have to tell people we exist via live performance. No better place than an outdoor BBQ in Jersey City :-)
We’re kicking off the event at 2PM. It will be our first show as a trio (Brandon, Beth, and I), as we have decided to try a smaller, more focused, and mobile set for the time being so we can get around easier and play out more. The loud show will return in the future, but for now please join us on the 21st for what is certain to be an interesting performance. We’re really looking forward to it. Lots of great bands!
Here’s an interview I did back in May for a website called Pens Eye View. The article just went up yesterday: http://www.penseyeviewnew.com/pev/2012/07/10/the-static-sea/
Finally, I never posted this here, but our friend Deukyun Hwang filmed Brandon and I doing a bunch of acoustic versions of some of our songs. You can find those on our Youtube page, but for now, here’s “I Won’t Wait” from our EP:
Thanks, and talk to you soon :-)

Also, CMJ is hosting a free mp3 download of the song “Whatever You Want.” You can find that here:

The CMJ May Mixtape that includes “Third Parties” (the song) is going to be gone soon! Get it before it’s too late. It’s free!
Our copy of The Big Takeover magazine that has a cool review of Third Parties (the album) arrived yesterday. This a really great music magazine that’s only published twice a year, so you’d be wise to order one.
Thank you! If you have the album, we hope you’re enjoying it!

Huge thanks to Billy and Matt at Overpop Music for letting us have the opportunity to give “Third Parties,” our first full length album, a wide release today all over the damn internet. Words cannot express our gratitude. We never imaged that this record would ever wind up being packaged in this pretty little case, ready to be shipped out everywhere. Also, thank you to our awesome publicist (and BSG fanatic) Krista at Skye Media and our lovely band for helping us push this thing. You’re all the best, man. You did it.
Here are a few places you can buy “Third Parties.” This list will be updated as new retailers pop up:
Many more on the way, including iTunes. You can stream our album on both Spotify and Rhapsody.
Now that that’s done and over with, we will certainly be playing out more often. We have a couple shows in New York and New Jersey already lined up. Please check our calendar on our website if you’re interested in coming out and seeing us. We’re also working on a new record with the band that we’re going to be recording this fall IN A STUDIO!!!! More on that later.
Other things of note: I wrote the story behind the track “Whatever You Want” for Antimusic.com’s Singled Out series. You can find that here. We did a live internet radio interview yesterday with Fearless Radio that will be archived in the next couple days. We’ll post a link to it when it’s up.
That’s all for now. I hope you all enjoy the album! Thanks so much :-)

Here’s a music video for “Third Parties” that we recorded over the weekend. We have no editing skills and couldn’t afford to pay anyone, so in the spirit of the album, we recorded a single shot iPhone video and synced the audio in iMovie. Tanya, our friend who recorded the previous live videos for us, was nice enough to help us film it. Ben couldn’t make it out for the shoot so Brandon had to draw a picture of Ben’s face, which we attached to a vocal pop filter on a mic stand complete with a coat hanger for Ben’s wardrobe changes.
We hope you like it!
